The guests are primarily responsible for the growth or loss of your business and so it is very much important to keep track of from which source the business comes in. In order to improve business we might commission some of the agents who bring the business for us, do marketing by various means, try to get corporate business.

 In businessource, you can maintain a log of all the business sources those are commissioned and noncommissioned. You can also define and apply different rates (special rates) to the guests brought by business sources. You can also include the business sources in the direct billing so that if the guest is assigned the same, you can later collect the payment from business source.

                                      Monthly commission report in the businessource displays the overall computed commission for each business source contact. Thus, you are relieved from the error prone task of commission computation. You can also generate business source wise transactions report.

                                                       There are three steps involved before you attempt to assign the business source to the guest.

     1. Define the business source
2. Add the business source contacts
3. Special rate definition for each business contact

Define the business source

You need to define the business sources first and decide whether he could be commissioned or not. For e.g. Taxi Driver.

To define new business source, from the Tools menu, click on Business Source. The following form gets displayed.

Special rate definition for each business contact

Having finished adding business source contacts, you need to define the special rates for each room type of preconfigured Daily rate type if necessary. The guests coming through the business sources can be applied special rates if necessary. That is you need to explicitly select the special rate option for the guests if required to apply. But to apply the special rates you will have to define it first.

To define the special rates, from the Tools menu, click on the Rate Definition for Business Contacts submenu. The following form gets displayed.

Enter the room rate (Rate) for each room type (Room Type) of each business contact.

 How to assign the business source to the guest?

Having finished all the primary steps involved in business contact, let’s see how to assign the business contact to guest.

You can assign the business source contact to guest during reservation or checking in. You will find the Business Source combo as follows.
